My wife and I decided to try and add a flare to our house decor by adding something different, original, inexpensive, and easy for novices.  After some research on the internet, I found some information on wall murals, stickers, and posters, that can be applied to walls without damaging the wall if you would like to remove the stickers or murals in the future.

This is a wonderful product, as it is washable, durable, removable and repositionable.  The murals and stickers come on a wide array of images that are suitable for any home decor.  Murals are defined as rectangular images, while the stickers are actual images that are cut out in vinyl and adhered to the wall.

Murals can come in sizes up to 8'x8' as they consist of 4' wide sections that are placed edge to edge.  Sticker images can range in similar size, but they are already cut out and a single image usually consists of multiple stickers.  For example a sticker of a tree actually consists of multiple branch stickers.

After we repainted our bedrooms, we made a minor mistake, in the fact that we painted first and then we purchased the wall mural.  In order to match complimentary colors, I recommend that you buy the mural first, and then chose your wall colors and paint the walls.  It will be much easier.  Live and learn I guess.  Luckily, the site where we purchased the murals has a huge selection, so we were able to match colors.
We started with the kids room first.  The kids got into the act, so it was a fun family affair.  My wife and I just finished repainting the interior of our house.  My son's telephone poles turned out really well.  Considering that the sticker package is less than $20, it looks like a million bucks.  We should have used a level in placing the telephone poles, but since they are repositionable, with a few adjustments they look great.  Our kids also purchased Eminem band posters for their rooms.  I tried to get them to purchase The Who band poster, but all they could mutter is who?  Oh well, it's our generation I guess.

Our master bedroom wall mural is that of a Tuscany countryside.  It really changed the feel of the room, as it transformed the room into a serene retreat.  We really like it and are happy with the results.  We are considering adding another mural to our living room.  This one will probably be of a Moroccan landscape, viewed through an ornate iron grille window that makes you feel like you're on a different continent.  We are really hooked on these murals, and are looking forward to decorating another room.  My wife is happy, so I am happy.

Attached are the samples of the telephone poles and Morrocan wall mural.  Sorry, but I did not take any pictures of my son's band posters.

The website where you can get more information on wall murals, and stickers is at Band Posters, check it out, there are also cool, and vintage posters.

I hope you like this blog.  Just remember, this method of decor is fun, rewarding, inexpensive, and enjoyable for the whole family.
